My name is Megan Flores. I have been working for Kansas City Public Schools for 15 years. Of those 15 I have been a middle school ELA teacher, a middle school ELL teacher, and for the past 3 years, the instructional coach here at NEMS. I have a Bachelor's degree in Middle School Education, a Masters in Multicultural Curriculum & Instruction, a Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and an Education Specialist in School Leadership. I am married to my high school sweetheart of 20 years, we have been married for 10. I have 2 children of my own, who are also KCPS scholars. I am a product of KCPS myself, where I attended K-12. I am dedicated to helping teachers become the best they can be, which in turn allows students to be the best they can be.
For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it. ~ Amanda Gorman

I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Lincoln Prep Academy. I completed my Bachelors of Arts in English Education at Langston University, and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree at UMKC. "The teacher is of course an artist but being an artist does not mean that he or she can make the profile, can shape the students. What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves.” - Paulo Freire
My name is April Hoffman. I'm an ESL ELA teacher at Northeast Middle School. I have been a teacher for 17 years, but this is my first year in KCPS school district.
